Jazz Middelheim announces full lineup for 2026 edition

Jazz Middelheim returns to Park Den Brandt in Antwerp in 2026 and today reveals the full lineup for its edition taking place on May 23, 24 and 25. Following last year’s successful relaunch, the festival continues to build on its renewed direction, with respect for its rich history and a clear view towards the future. Since 1969, Jazz Middelheim has been a cornerstone of the Belgian and international jazz landscape, and in 2026 it once again offers three days of music in a green, open setting where listening takes centre stage.

A string lineup with international stars and local talent

The lineup is led by a series of international headliners, each highlighting a different facet of the genre. With Flea & The Honora Band, the new and open jazz project of the bassist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers and his only Belgian show, improvisation and collective energy take centre stage. Cécile McLorin Salvant brings her distinctive voice and layered storytelling, where tradition and imagination meet. Jazz legend Billy Cobham returns with Time Machine, revisiting the groundbreaking fusion of the 1970s. Cymande adds a timeless blend of funk, soul and Caribbean influences that continues to inspire generations. The Fred Hersch Trio presents one of the most lyrical pianists of his generation in an intimate format focused on nuance and interplay. Marcos Valle brings a rich and timeless repertoire where Brazilian music, jazz and pop intersect. Finally, The Buena Vista Orchestra carries forward the legacy of the iconic ensemble and Cuban musical tradition, with warmth, rhythm and a strong connection to the past.

The festival also introduces a range of newly announced artists, further deepening the programme. Immanuel Wilkins stands out as one of the most expressive saxophonists of his generation, while Alune Wade seamlessly blends African influences with jazz. Jasmine Myra offers a contemporary, melodic approach, and Theon Cross is known for his powerful, innovative tuba sound, bridging jazz, grime and dub.

Local talent once again plays an important role within the programme. With artists and projects such as N∆BOU, Unfinished Business, Tutu Puoane, BXL x LDN Interplay III and OLA TUNJI, Jazz Middelheim highlights the next generation and the diversity of the Belgian scene.

The full lineup is further completed by artists including Alune Wade, Annahstasia, Cassie Kinoshi’s seed., Chris Potter Trio, Collier plays Coltrane, Jasmine Myra, Nduduzo Makhatini and The Herbaliser Band, forming a programme that brings together tradition, experimentation and international influences. As night falls, vinyl heroes HUNEE, Danilo Plessow (formerly Motor City Drum Ensemble) and Tereza will guide the festival into the evening with carefully curated DJ sets full of hidden gems and long-lost B-sides.
