Follie Sessions: small intimate concerts

Follie Sessions: small intimate concerts

Tucked into a corner of the festival grounds, Follie is a beautifully restored little house (formerly known as the Peperkoeken Huisje). During Jazz Middelheim 2026, it becomes the setting for something quieter: the Follie Sessions. Short concerts, twenty minutes each, performed for a small audience in an intimate space. No distance between musician and listener. Just the music, close up.

The format is simple by design. Across all three festival days, artists perform in short rotation - the same set repeated a few times, each time for a new group of visitors. Guitar. Two harps. Clarinet. Keyboard and percussion. Saxophone. The programme moves through different textures and voices, all stripped back to their essentials. The Follie Sessions exist slightly apart from the main stages - a place to step away from the park and spend twenty minutes in close listening. The kind of musical moment that doesn't scale up.
