360 degrees of Birdland: a new stage design.

Jazz Middelheim's open-air stage has been the heart of the festival grounds. This year, it gets a new form. Kader Meraki - a design studio with a sharp eye for spaces that feel both considered and alive - has reimagined Birdland as a circular platform that opens the performance space in every direction.

No fixed front. No obvious back.
The circular setup removes the usual hierarchy of a stage. There is no best spot, no wrong angle. Music sits at the centre, and the space around it is yours to navigate. Whether you're close in or further back, under the trees or out in the open, the stage meets you where you are.

Minimal form. Strong presence.
The installation is deliberate in its restraint. It sits in the greenery of Park Den Brandt without overpowering it - a structure that belongs in the landscape while quietly reshaping how the space around it feels. As the light shifts from afternoon into evening, so does the stage. Built for movement, atmosphere and performances that benefit from room to breathe.

We can't show you everything yet. But the moodboard below gives an idea of what to expect when Birdland opens this May.
