3 closing DJ sets at Jazz Middelheim 2026

Jazz has always lived beyond the stage. In record collections, radio shows and clubs, the music found new forms and new contexts. That same thread runs through DJ culture, where collecting, selecting and responding creatively to the sound of the moment are key. Vinyl becomes an instrument, the dancefloor a conversation. Jazz, soul and funk often form the foundation, not as nostalgia, but as something that keeps evolving.

This year, that idea takes on a different place at Jazz Middelheim. No separate DJ stage, but one closing moment each day at Birdland. After the concerts, the energy shifts from stage to dancefloor. For those who want to stay a little longer, move a bit more, or let the day wind down at their own pace. Each night runs until 01:00, with a slightly earlier close on Monday, around midnight.

On Saturday, Hunee takes over. His sets are built in the moment, with a strong sensitivity to the dancefloor. He moves effortlessly across styles and eras. Disco, house, soul and jazz come together without a fixed path, but with a clear sense of flow. What you hear unfolds gradually, guided by intuition and attention.

On Sunday, DJ veteran Danilo Plessow steps in, also known as Motor City Drum Ensemble. His approach draws from a wide musical foundation. House and techno often set the tone, but influences from soul, funk and jazz regularly surface. His sets feel considered, yet remain open. Rhythm and continuity lead, with space for nuance and detail.

On Monday, Tereza closes the weekend. Based in Berlin, she builds her sets with a strong sense of flow and connection. With roots in hip-hop and a broad view on club music, she brings together house, soul and jazz in a gradual, evolving movement. Light and rhythmic, always attentive to the space and the crowd.
